Ahmi Lee joined the Fuller faculty in 2015 as assistant professor of preaching after having taught as an adjunct professor.

As a “third culture kid” born in South Korea, raised in Japan, and educated in an American international school, Lee’s unique background and experience enrich her understanding and passion for preaching in the global church context. Her dissertation, “Toward a Theodramatic Homiletic,” examines a theology of preaching that holds in dynamic tension the coherence of the Christian gospel and the diversiformity of the church’s performance interpretations in living out God’s drama in today’s changing epistemological landscape.

Prior to coming to Fuller, Lee served in both monoethnic and multiethnic congregations in the Chicago area in the capacities of teaching pastor, college/young adults pastor, and children’s program director. Her 12 years of pastoral experience also includes teaching, directing, and speaking at churches, parachurch organizations, and conferences in countries such as Australia, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, South Africa, and the United States. In addition, Lee has served as a translator for various ministries, such as Campus Crusade for Christ in Japan and Fuller’s Korean DMin Program. Today she remains an active preacher and speaker worldwide.

Lee is a member of the Academy of Homiletics and has contributed to Trinity JournalRestoration Quarterly, and Word and World.
